Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA in Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue is an American actor also known as producer and director. She works in television and film. She began her acting career in theater and later appeared in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. She was known for appearing as Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) as well as on BET's epic The Book of Negroes. The series both received reviews, and she also won a lot of prizes. In 1995, she was the first actress to make her debut in The Tempest as Ariel. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Film-wise she is most famous for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. On television her regular role in the ABC's crime drama series High Incident has earned her high praise.
